Hes beautiful isn't he. Hes my pride and joy, the reason I live breath and everything else you can fit in that sentence. I guess my journey starts before him though.
I was born a poor black child..... Just kidding! I was born completely opposite of that. I was actually born into a pretty well off family in Corpus Christi. My mom hated Corpus though so she convinced my dad to move us out. They went to Washington DC, well that's where my dads work took us, then after five years there we moved to Clear Lake City,TX where my dad worked for NASA he still works there, well up until september 2010 when they laid him off (those jerks after like 20 years!)
In Houston where we lived I want to say we were the only Hispanic Family in the neighborhood. I would also like to say that we weren't treated any different from any other family.... but that's not true. I specifically remember one instance with my best friend who was Asian and one of the other little white girls in our class called us "Dark as a hippos butt" great just great... she could have picked any dark animal .. but she chose Hippo. Even tho I was tested and scored the same as another girl in my class who was in the Alpha class they rejected my application stating that there wasn't enough room in the said class. I wasn't Fat the comments made about me make me sound fat... but I wasn't I was a skinny kid either. When I come across a picture of me as a child i'll post it.
Even through all that tho, the community I grew up in was predominately White. We Lived in a bubble! Clear Lake is not like the real world. There are more than one color person in the real world... When I moved to Corpus Christi I learned a few things about the real world ... here they are, I've got them listed
1) You have to Lock your car doors in the Real World.
2) Before leaving your car and locking it... you Have to HIDE your purse.
3) In the R.W. you have to park your car close to the entrance of what ever building your going into.
4) Men in the clubs in the R.W. might spike your drink so ALWAYS WATCH YOUR CUP.
5) Dont look bitches in the eyes, they hate that.
6) My Counterpart in life believes in the R.W. you need a gun. No exceptions
I lived in Corpus for like two years without knowing the rules, in a pretty safe neighborhood (I thought)
When I met my Life Partner (no i'm not gay but we're not married and I refuse to call him my husband until I get a Ring on this finger)
Since I met him my car got : broken into, scratched, dented, honey in the gas tank, (he did replace a hub cap tho) and dirty as all hell. Not to mention he put it threw hell driving all over the place in it, THROWING UP IN IT, getting it hit in the front bumper and sand OH THE SAND!
He put a whole new meaning to life in my eyes. Not to mention a whole new meaning to safe and secure! Living with my Mother in Law I learned about drugs, drug dealers, Law abiding drug dealers, punk kids, scary gangs, and dog fighting. My Life Partner hes a really interesting man.
I think my life changed when I met him, it changed for the better, for the worse, for the sick and for the insane. It changed for the rich and the POOR (and we've been poor) and hopefully until death due us part. Or divorce which ever comes first Because I believe hes either gonna kill me or divorce me!(haha or have me killed Hes pretty smart I wouldn't put it past him)
He makes me laugh, and cry. He makes me really happy most of the time and kinda confused the rest of the time. We are totally different people! From totally different worlds and its weird and funny how we can work together to make our little family work.
It works for the most part. I wouldn't change our little grouping for the world. You don't know me very well yet but in time we will get to my rough and rowdy past. As for my life partner OH EM GEE my past makes his look like he grew up in another country and to me he did. He did things in his childhood I would never have even thought about trying to do and probably couldn't, due to the sick out factor. (you know what I'm talking about you pet hamster grave digger)
Two Crazies put together makes ... a really (so far) fantastic child. (pictured above) and so this is where my story starts, or rather THIS story because there are alot of them.
I'm making this blog for people who think they are stuck, for people who need a hope. Yes in my journey I get help from my Partner and his family but people you can do it alone I promise, you don't need anyone but you and your spirit. I want to help you. I'm here and we're suffering together.
** Its nice to have the support. Thank you to my In laws and Partner, and his family you have been there for me when no others would be there. **
