Ok we moved again .. hopefully this time for the last time.
Well not the last last time but the last time for hopefully a couple of years .. Like 5 to 10 years!
We bought a house this time!
Its amazing and bigger than any place we've ever rented before. so YAY!
It just feels like a lot of responsibility LIKE for instance ... There are a Bazillion things I need to clean today because people are probably coming over this weekend to check out the new house, and I'm online writing about how I should be cleaning and have a million things to clean that actually cleaning .. One more time YAY!
I feel like because we have a house now that I need to have toilet paper and gifts for people that are coming over ... currently we have no toilet paper and barely water to offer people that come over. SOME ONE NEEDS TO HEAD TO THE STORE!
Don't worry .. Don't freak out!
DEEP DEEP breath!!
We will figure out this owning a home thing just like we do everything .. together laughing over how I messed stuff up the first time by reading and writing this blog.
Alright so the first thing I should have done when we first got here instead of being so excited we just moved all our crap in super fast and putting boxes every where .. was
1) I should have mopped and cleaned all the surfaces FIRST! The house we bought was a foreclosure ... I'm not sure if you buy a house from someone (like a person not a bank) if they clean on their way out .. but either way it seems like common sense that you would want to wash off all their germs before you put your things down. MY house was covered in dirt and dust and SPIDERS because it hadn't been lived in for a year. I should have mopped and dusted.. although that wouldn't have made a huge difference since my husband tore out the bathroom and created a huge dusty mess all over the house.
2) when I was packing up our other residence I should have marked the boxes with which room the boxes needed to go into. and maybe like a SMALL list of what's in the box on the outside. I also should have had more of a plan on what to put in boxes. i.e.. Things that are related to each other in every box In stead of my "everything must go in a box no matter what box it is" plan.
3) when we got here I should have paid more attention to where the dirty clothes were and maybe marked them dirty... no explanation should be needed here.
4) PACK A SUITCASE! pack for at least a week! I packed an over night bag thinking I would have everything were its supposed to go already ... its three weeks later, I don't have a bathroom and I cant find anything.
5) I am very scared of spiders ... like I scream. Roaches I'm ok with .. other bugs as long as its not a spider I can step on pretty easily .. but spiders ... are scary. MY HOUSE WAS COVERED IN THEM! little ones that jump, HUGE ONES that look like "her" from Lord of the Rings. I almost peed when this one that could only be described as a tarantula came charging at me...
long story short .. your gonna need like bug spray and your need to spray before you bring your crap in and hopefully you have a few days to let everything sink in a die. I did I sprayed the day we closed and then we got the keys like a few days later, and by then I was able to sweep up all the dead things.
Learn from me friends .. I'm here being your comedic relief so you can learn.
I hope to hopefully have this place sorted out ...next week haha My booboo goes back to school on Monday so I will have more time to clean, wash, dust, squash, and mow. If you have questions about maybe buying a home ... haha I had very little to no part in a actual proceedings. All I did was find the realtor and house since our realtor was useless. I then found a new realtor and my husband did the rest. I would say if we could do it all over again I would want to be present if at all possible at the appraisal. Our toilet was CLOGGED! I don't know if it was the previous owner or if it just happened in the matter of year it wasn't used. man All those problem all those things we should have looked at need to be in a whole different blog. I'll write that one next.
Anyway I hope I helped or at least made you laugh
Nik
